The Old Mission Women’s Club is Proud to Announce $16,000 in 2025 Grants
Traverse City, Michigan - The Old Mission Women’s Club (OMWC), a nonprofit 501(c)(3), has a rich and interesting history in the Old Mission Peninsula community. Established in 1931 with nine members, the Club now has over 140 active members focused on helping local charitable organizations as well as intra-club educational gatherings. Since 2011, the Club has contributed $154,000 to several organizations and has touched many more lives. The funds for the grants are generated solely by fundraisers developed and operated by dedicated and hardworking members.
This year, OMWC is proud to announce four grant recipients, each receiving $4,000 for their proposed plans.
NMCAA - The Laundry Project: Provides those with limited funds to have their laundry cleaned. The OMWC grant will help ensure laundry services, consistent with their vision for all children to have an opportunity to maintain a healthy and clean appearance.
Project Feed the Kids: Fighting food insecurities one meal at a time. Six coolers in Traverse City, Kingsley, Kalkaska, Buckley and Benzonia are stocked with free meals for those in need - non-judgmental, no qualifications and no questions asked. The coolers are open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
TCAPS Student Support Network: Provides free education and non-academic services to help TCAPS students (ages 3-20) overcome obstacles that create barriers to learning. Wide-ranging support includes clothing, hygiene products, funds for extracurricular interests and referrals to community services.
Traverse Bay Children's Advocacy Center: The regional response center for cases of child abuse and violence, TBCAC offers free intervention, prevention, and counseling services to non-offending parents and children who have experienced abuse.
